The Vanished Pakistani state structure in Balochistan.

           By Archen Baloch

              Monday, December 20, 2010

Nowadays reports of under detention killings of Baloch youths received from different parts of Balochistan are highly disturbing, these report are promptly confirmed because of easy availability of electronic media and  mostly believed in general public, because, given the volatile situation of Balochistan, anything is possible. But international media is not being allowed to inter Balochistan for assessing the grave situation what is going on in that part of world and the Journalists related to local media are high targets of Pakistani state sponsored terrorism.
Baloch armed guerillas forces have now increased their attacks on Pakistani occupying forces across Balochistan. In response, the frustrated ultra-nationalist Punjabi generals and bureaucrats have now adopted a counter strategy of abduction- kill and dump of soft targets. This is to prevent the energetic part of Baloch society, the youths from joining the Baloch national movement. And being more sinister, the teachers, students and Journalists are also its prime targets to deprive Baloch society of its literati.
The president of Khuzdaar Press Club, Mohamd Khan Sasoli, has been gunned down in the close vicinity of his house by unknown motorcyclists, when he was returning back home after finishing his duty from Press Club. The 36 years old Journalist was a father of a son. It is noteworthy here to mention that Mohmad khan is the first Journalist became the victim of target killing  after the under detention tormented killing of Lala Hameed,  a Journalist  was based  in Gwader city, who was found dead with marks of tortures on his body in a deserted place along with his friend Ismail.
Yesterday, tortured bodies of five missing persons were found in desolate areas of different districts and cities, from Mand town Raziq Lateef, from Khuzdaar city Ibrahim Husni and Noora Baloch, from Tump district town Yousif Baloch, and from Karachi city Saifulla Bugti. And yesterday, as I was writing this article I received a call from a reliable source that said tortured body Huda e Rahim a political worker from Quetta, his body was found in a deserted area on Quetta-Taftan road   with a notice in his pocket which read “Bangulzai was a friend of Ali Sher Kurd and belong to BLA. He has received his punishment and others like him will also meet the same fate” claimed by a previously unknown organization, “Mujahdeen Balochistan”.     It has been observed that Baloch resistant forces are targeting Pakistani army and its installations.
Yet the state sponsored terrorist organizations, Lashker e Jangvie, a much closed affiliate of Talban, lashaker e Taeyaba and Al-Qaida from Jumiet e Ulmae Islam side, is said to be involved in the target killing of teachers, journalists and political workers in Balochistan at the behest of Pakistani state agencies and Punjabi army.
Baloch Musaleh Defie Tanzeem, a pocket organization of Pakistani political establishment, tasked with the responsibility of particularly targeting those Baloch Journalists and political workers, who are outspoken of Pakistani state policies regarding the Baloch national question in the historical perspective.
Pakistani state has changed the commander of its occupying forces in Balochistan. Gen Salim Nawaz, a Punjabi ex corps commander of  FC in Balochistan, who, under the command of Gen Musharraf had carried out the genocide of Baloch youths and martyred Nawab Akber Bugti, has been replaced by a Pashtun mercenary general from Khaiber  Pashtunkhowa  province , Gen Ubaidullah Khan khatak, to head Frontier Corps and continue the legacy of its Punjabi master. Now he has taken the charge of Baloch genocide “as a Pashtun” under the command of Punjabi Gen Ashfaq Kayani
The sole object of changing the command of FC from a Punjabi to a Pashtun mercenary is to exonerate Punjab of its crime ridden record of genocide of Baloch nation, and shifting the blame on a Pashtun military General, whereby Punjabi dominated Pakistani state could justify its use of force against Baloch public in the name of restoring the state writ in the “so called   Balochistan province” and implying that Pakistan is a country where all are equally represented.
It was the Khuzdar Cantonment where the Pushtoon mercenary General of Punjab made its first visit when he was appointed as the corps commander of FC in Balochistan. Where he met Mengal and Zehri sardars and then he went to Chaman as a guest of Mahmmod Achakzai, where on record he announced the induction of Pashtuns in Pak army from Pashtun dominated areas of Balochistan, he also said that as Khuzdaar and Quetta districts are with us, other remaining districts cannot make any trouble for us. It is noteworthy to mention here that the land on which the Khuzdar Cantonment is established belong to Zehri and Mengal brothers. It is more than 20 thousand acres land leased to Punjabi military by Mengal and Zehri brothers.
But Baloch resistance has ripped through the order of the tribal societies. Powerful tribes have been reduced into fraternity groups by resistance movement. The recent attacks on two high profile government officials by Baloch resistance forces show that Baloch society is fully controlled by Sarmachars (the freedom fighters). The CM and Governor are chieftains of their respective tribes, But unable to seek their revenge on Baloch resistance movement as it has broken all barrier of tribalism. Baloch Sarmachars, the freedom fighters, have now totally changed the landscape of resistance.
Pakistani state writ in Baluchistan’s social life is totally eroded, except the military cantonments and garrisons, where only Punjabi military personnel and with Pushton mercenary armed men are living. They are totally alienated from Baloch society, they have been rendered as estrange objects in Balochistan by Baloch nationalist forces.
Pakistani army personnel without heavy columns of armed vehicles cannot enter into Baluchistan’s cities and towns. The constant resistance of 10 years has worn the morale of Pakistan army across Balochistan. Its armed men are suffering from mental illnesses.
Apart from Armed resistance, in general society, people have now refused to pay utility bill, which is costing Pakistan billions of rupees. Without the presence of helicopters and tanks it is utterly an impossible task for Punjab army to make sure that Baloch natural gas is flowing into Punjab’s cities and factories from already depleted Gas fields of Balochistan.
Baloch students have refused to be taught Pakistan Study text books in schools, colleges and universities. Reciting Pakistani national anthem in all education institutions and schools in Balochistan is a sin. Pakistani flag can be seen hoisted only on its cantonments and military camps. In place of Pakistani flag, azad Balochistan flag is flying on all schools, colleges, shops and homes across Balochistan.
All provincial and national assembly members from Balochistan have now bought homes in Islamabad and want to leave Balochistan forever, because, they are isolated from Baloch society of general public. They are now called pariah in Baloch society for reasons that they have done nothing for Baloch national struggle for freedom. Instead they are believed to be the collaborators of enemy. Civil courts in Balochistan are deserted, as Baloch have abandoned the hope that their day to day social grievances would be redressed Pakistani courts. All courts in Balochistan are now engaged only with false cases framed against Baloch youths by occupying Punjabi military establishment as a measure of preventing them from the participation of freedom struggle.
However, Pakistani military is putting all blame of Baloch insurgency on India, Afghanistan and Russia; and particularly India is its prime target of the whole blame. But to defend themselves from Pakistani blames, it’s appropriate for neighboring countries, particularly for India to send the members of  its civil societies to check  if there is any Indian involvement  in fomenting insurgency in Balochistan or not?

The State Equilibrium of Pakistan

By Archen Baloch

The State Equilibrium of Pakistan

The patience of the Punjabi military of Pakistan is wearing thin. The reasons are obvious: Pakistan has become a bedridden man and all its vital organs have ceased to function properly. But its inept PPP rulers are insisting that they can fix it with the help of foreign aid.
The Pakistani army has never been in love with democracy; it has always enjoyed foreign support whenever it took the reins of power directly, or played behind the scenes.
But this time around things have changed tremendously; either way, Pakistan’s existence is at stake. If it imposes martial law or emergency, either will be catastrophic for Pakistan. And for this reason, it is certain that Pakistan’s military establishment is exploring a third way of how to take over and save Pakistan from disintegration.
The Pakistan army, because of its composition, is also called the Punjabi army, as 78 percent of its personnel are from three districts of northern Punjab with 20 percent being Pashtun ethnic. The remaining 2 percent are Karachiite Muhajirs. Baloch and Sindhi are all together excluded from this composition. This is the weakness of the Pakistani military, where its top brass have often been seen characterizing their army as a national army. For any adventure, given its Punjabi composition, it has to resort to Sindhi Wadiras, Baloch chieftains, and religious Pashtuns for political support.
External complications--the overbearing demand of the world community to do more against terrorism--has left the Pakistani military with no option other than to revert to taking covert control of the “political” affairs of the state. With respect to democracy, the current Zardari government is totally dysfunctional. Both India and Afghanistan are constantly reminding the international community that Pakistan is indeed the epicenter of terrorism from where all evils of terrorism are emanating. When it comes to diplomatic niceties, the French in their talks are far more outspoken than their fellow European nations; as French have never been seen beating around the bush. The head of foreign affairs in France, Bernhard Koushner, says “Taliban leaders have been given shelter in Pakistan. I'm not revealing anything new.”
But it isn’t only external pressures that have plunged Pakistan into a precarious state of isolation. The existential threat to Pakistan has deprived the omnipotent Punjabi military leadership of its cozy sleep in Rawalpindi. The internal threat is so significant that the majority of top international intellectuals have openly declared that Pakistan is indeed a failed state. It has lost its legitimacy as a viable state. It is likely that one of the most troubled countries (near Pakistan) in the world is going to file a case against Pakistan in the Security Council or in the UN General Assembly for revisiting its status as a viable member state of United Nations.
The American policy towards Pakistan is that of a carrot and stick. But it is not working now and the Americans are exhausted; the shuttling of American officials between Washington and Islamabad and then Kabul is bearing no fruit regarding the Tailban’s “sophisticated onslaughts” on allied forces in Afghanistan. And this ubiquitous relationship between Pakistan and America has now come to a head.
The Indian and Afghan pressures are a great irritant to Pakistan, as well, because in return they pay nothing for it, while America and its allies are pouring billions of dollars into its coffers. It is this American money that has sustained not only the Pakistan economy, but also Pakistan itself.
An extraordinary crisis meeting took place earlier this month between the army and political establishment. Pakistan’s finance minister Hafeez Sheikh, in the presence of Zardari and the PM Gilani administration, briefed the top brass of the Punjabi military leadership that Pakistan's economy is so precarious that it is not likely to have money to pay salaries to its employees in the next two months.
Troubled Pakistan is constantly being bailed out by American.
Karachi is the main port city of Pakistan, where it conducts its import and export business. But Karachi is now in the constant grip of ethnic conflict, where Pashtun and Urdu speaking Muhajirs are at each other’s throats. The land-locked Pashtun are seeking a share of control over Karachi for commercial and trade needs. And the Muhajirs are hellbent on dislodging them from Karachi. For this, they are constantly creating unrest in Karachi and labeling all Pushtuns as Taliban, so that the migration of the Pushtun is stopped with the backing of Pakistani military. The apprehension of the Muhajir community is that the influx of Pashtuns would upset the Muhajir demographic and turn them into a minority. So far, a level of restraint has been maintained and no one dares to cross it. But now it has become a volcano that could erupt any time soon. Each warring ethnic group, disguised in the love of Pakistan, is set in a race against time to secure control of Karachi. This tension has severely disrupted Pakistan’s economic activities and now poses a security risk.
Eleven years of ruthless campaigns of bombardments, arrests, tortures, enforced disappearances, and diversionary propaganda attributing the Baloch Resistance Movement with trivial demands and characterizing them as Taliban has failed to suppress the resistance. Balochistan has already spiraled out of Pakistani state control. The irreversible liberation movement of the Baloch nation has left Pakistan in a moral crisis where it has lost its statehood equilibrium. The 63 years of its cruel containment policy, maintained behind the smokescreen of an “Islamic Pakistan,” is based on the severe punishment of Baloch youths. The heinous crimes that Pakistan is committing in Balochistan consist of abducting youths and denying them access to justice and/or killing them in detention.
Pakistan has already lost political control over Balochistan; all it controls are its military cantonments and the garrisons across the Baloch homeland, manned with Punjabi soldiers and a number of Pashtun mercenaries.
In 1991 the USSR’s head Mikhail Gorbachev admitted that Soviet Russia had lost its political control over its union republics.
During the Senior Bush era, the James Baker team refused to bail out the Soviet Russia during its economic meltdown.
The ripple effects of a Soviet collapse, however, were far more severe than the fears conceived by the world community over Pakistan’s potential disintegration.

Archen Baloch

Occupied Balochistan:  Confirmed reports received by Radio Gwank that Iranian Revolutionary Guard have fired several rockets on the other side of the border of Balochistan occupied by Pakistan.  Last night the Iranian forces fired more than 6 rockets on Serkizai village in Zamuran sub district. This is 25km from the Iranian controlled border. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard have entered into Pakistani occupied balochistan Serkazai village where they arrested the injured ones who had become the victims of its rockets bombardments.
It isn’t first time that Iran has committed such incursion in all so called bordering areas in Pakistani occupied balochistan. According to locals the Persian forces have fired 6 rockets intermittently on the Serkazai Village starting at 2 AM till 5 AM.  Mulla Salim and Barkat Ali were the last year’s victims of Persian incursions. The villagers complained that the Pakistani Government seems to be in accomplice with Iranian regime’s atrocities against, as so for it has taken no action against Iranian incursion.  According to the reporter, the Iranian forces have threatened the villagers that if they made any complain to the media, then they will face grave consequences.
Aslam  Bulaidahie, an ex-provincial minister of Pakistani occupied Balochistan, said that Pakistan is also in league with Iran committing untold atrocities against Baloch nation.

Massive Military Operation in Gwader District

Occupied Balochistan: reports are coming from various sources from district Gwader and Dasht areas that Pakistan has launched a massive military operation with the hardcore conventional forces, backed by Jet fighters, helicopters, tanks and armored vehicles.  Forces from Turbat , Mand and  Gwader Camps have been dispatched to carry out the gory operation  in Seyaji  Mountains. New check posts have been set up on all   outlet passage ways to strangle the local population, for not co operating with forces in Derwaar, .Katrenz, SuntSer , Metsing and TeranDisk

Apparently, this operation seems to have been launched to plush out the Baloch Resistance forces in the surrounding Gwader district area, where Baloch resistance forces have increased the frequency of their attacks on Pakistani occupying .forces

It should be remembered that, a week ago, a successful action was carry out by Baloch Sarmachars (freedom fighters) in .which a convey of occupying forces was completely destroyed.  It is .said that more than 29 army personnel were killed

In retaliation of this fatal attack, the Pakistani armed forces have put, all oil selling shops of border traders, on fire, in an attempt to punish the local traders collectively. The helpless unarmed people were forced to run for long distances, when asked, why this punishment? The army retorted that all Baloch are atheists, they should be killed and the killing of .Baloch is purely a jihad in Islam

A Sheppard named Sabzal and an other  mentally retard  also have been killed, in AnjeerKahn, during the indiscriminate bombardment of the village in Dasht district. Three men have also been arrested in Gwader city, i.e. Rustom, Mullok and .Sheer Mohammed

The Baloch factor: deterring Iranian extremism in the Middle East

April 22, 2010

by Archen Baloch
Iran has now started building a concrete fence along the arbitrary border between Iran and Pakistan, from Taftan to Mand, which is more than 700 miles long. This arbitrary border divides the Baloch homeland. The Iranian excuse is that it wants to stop the movement of so-called terrorists from Pakistani-occupied Balochistan into Iranian-controlled Balochistan. This concrete fence is 10 feet high and 3 feet thick . . . The Baloch economy is entirely dependent on border trades on both sides of the Occupied Balochistan. If Iran succeeds in building this fence and the Baloch's only source of income is straggled, then the world has to prepare itself for another hunger stricken Africa in the form of Balochistan . . . The GCC countries' intellectual and human rights campaigners never say a single word against the blatant violation of human rights and the genocide of the Baloch nation at the hands of theocratic regime of Iran and the security state of Pakistan, let alone their rulers. Instead, they are showering Pakistan with their free oil.

Iran is feeling the heat of possible repercussions for its misdeeds towards the Baloch nation. Only within the last week, Iran has taken several preventative measures designed to contain any potential Baloch insurgency. The reasons are obvious: The first thing that comes to mind while thinking about Iran's new measures is that Iran has caused a lot of trouble for Middle Eastern nations, particularly the GCC countries. It is conceivable that these Middle Eastern countries could use the Baloch nation’s anger against it.
Persian regimes and rulers have never provided the Baloch people, in known history, with any chances to utilize and develop their own cultural and natural resources. Rather, Persian rulers have ruthlessly persecuted the Baloch nation by characterizing them as Ashrar, smugglers, atheists and traitors, whenever the Baloch have tried to establish themselves as a nation in their own homeland!
To detract world attention from the internal contradictions caused by its different nationalities, Iran has spread its tentacles of religious terrorism throughout peaceful Middle Eastern Arab countries. The GCC countries are its prime targets.
On Thursday last week Iranian president, Ahmadi Nejad, during his visit to Zahidan, the Capitol of Western Balochistan, accused Middle Eastern nations and Western Powers of ignorance and arrogance. During his meeting with some of the provincial officials in its occupied southeastern Balochistan, he said that "the enemies of the Islamic Iran want to change Seistan and Balochistan Province into an insecure place. People of this province played a key role in protecting Iran's identity, independence, dignity and territorial integrity".
Prior to Nejadi’s statement, the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan, Mashalla Shakeri, told the Pakistani press that Iran was willing to share copper and gold refinery technology with Pakistani-Occupied Balochistan. Iran also offered Pakistan a 1000 megawatt electricity line to Balochistan to overcome its shortfall. According to Shakari, Iran would help the Baloch people develop themselves.
But contrary to the above mentioned efforts to woo and appease the disgruntled Baloch, Iran has now started building a concrete fence along the arbitrary border between Iran and Pakistan, from Taftan to Mand, which is more than 700 miles long. This arbitrary border divides the Baloch homeland. The Iranian excuse is that it wants to stop the movement of so-called terrorists from Pakistani-occupied Balochistan into Iranian-controlled Balochistan. This concrete fence is 10 feet high and 3 feet thick. It is worth mentioning here that a few weeks ago it was reported that Iran was vigorously establishing military cantonments and garrisons across Balochistan. Iranian defense minister Brig. Gen Ahmad Wahidi has said that "the fence is to prevent villains from crossing into the Islamic republic".
The Baloch economy is entirely dependent on border trades on both sides of the Occupied Balochistan. If Iran succeeds in building this fence and the Baloch’s only source of income is straggled, then the world has to prepare itself for another hunger stricken Africa in the form of Balochistan.
Thousands of political and non political Baloch people have been arrested without any reason. A large number of them have been hanged in public, and more of them are waiting to be hanged!
What harm have the Baloch done to the Persian people? No one can explain it! Hafeez Hassanabadi, the renowned Baloch writer, has rightly questioned "What is the relationship between Iran and the Baloch nation? One has to explain it!"
Now, coming to the relationship between the Arab and Baloch people: as a neighboring nation, the Baloch have contributed tremendously to the peace of almost all countries in the GCC, except Saudi Arabia. Without the presence of Baloch manpower in the security forces in these Gulf countries, current prosperity would not have been achieved, given the 60s, 70s and 80s political structure of the GCC countries. The British Empire relied heavily on the Baloch from ancient Baloch communities living in the Gulf countries as a neutral force to man the Gulf's security forces.
What Iran and Pakistan are doing against the Baloch nation is understandable, but why have our Arab brothers become a silent spectator to the blatant massacre of the Baloch people at the hands of Iran and Pakistan? It is beyond our comprehension. This apathy of their natural allies, however, did not deter the Baloch nation from struggling for the freedom of their homeland. Fighting in solitude, the Baloch are paying a heavy price for the freedom of their homeland in terms of human lives.
The enemies of the Baloch, both Pakistan and Iran, are collaborating with each other on security issues, sharing information and carrying out joint operations against Baloch freedom fighters, the Sarmachars, on a daily basis. Pakistan has transferred centrifuges to Iran using Baloch air, land and sea. And Baloch political forces time and again informed the world community that Iran and Pakistan are engaged in a sinister kind of business. But no one listened to the warnings. Pakistan's interior minister Rahman Malik is highly active in coordinating Iranian and Pakistani security forces to crush the Baloch insurgency on both sides. He constantly shuttles between Tehran and Islamabad!
Now the stark question is this: Why, despite knowing that Iran has an antagonistic history with the GCC countries, is Pakistan proliferating nuclear technology to Iran?
The predicament of the Baloch nation is that the majority of diaspora Baloch living in the Gulf countries are unable to voice their anger against Iranian and Pakistani atrocities because of the host countries’ political systems. The diaspora Baloch are extremely respectful of Arab hospitality. Even under immense pressure, they refrain from voicing their anger against Iranian and Pakistani atrocities.
The large number of Baloch people living in Gulf countries are sufficient to turn the earth against Pakistani and Iranian persecutors and draw the attention of the world community to the plight of their Baloch nation.
If the volatility of Middle Eastern nations had any positive impact on any nation other than the Arabs in the region it would be none other than the Baloch! In the neighborhood of GCC countries, Balochistan, occupied by both Iran and Pakistan, is becoming increasingly volatile. The Baloch nation is already engaged in guerrilla warfare with both Iran and Pakistan. They are not, however, receiving as much Arab media and public attention as deserved.
A last word! To successfully deter Iranian extremism and terrorism in the Middle East, reducing it to only to Qum, and to allow peace and prosperity to flourish in the region, the Baloch are a determining factor. It is high time for Middle Eastern media to allow a space for Baloch journalists to voice their anger against Iranian and Pakistani atrocities. The Arab intellectual’s interaction with pro-freedom Baloch intellectuals and writers would bring a better understanding to the Baloch national question.

Baloch Freedom Movement and Chinese Strategic Design

 2012/1/10

By Archen Baloch

At the sacred altar of Chinese interests in Balochistan Pakistan military slaughtered more than nine prominent Baloch political workers under detention and dumped their tortured bodies on different location cross Balochistan during Chinese premier, Wen Jiabao’s three days visit to Islamabad after India on December 17, 2010. And surprisingly the state controlled private media was vigorously giving coverage to these massacres right after every bet of news of Chinese premier activities in Islamabad. The motive behind it was to show the Chinese that Pakistan is doing everything to protect the Chinese interests in Balochistan even if it has to flow the river of blood in Balochistan. Mehboob Wadhela and Master Arif were among the prominent bulwarks that stood against the Chinese imperialistic interests in Gwadar embraced the martyrdom.

The very image of Pakistan, in Balochistan and outer world, is that of a mysterious serial killer that abducts, kills and dumps the bests of Baloch youths. Pakistani state relationship with Baloch People is painted with red blood. So far more than 360 activists have been killed under custody of Pak Army. And thousands of political workers are missing. Their fates are not known what have happened to them. All have been registered in the trusted books of world human rights organizations.

Balochistan was an independent Baloch sovereign state. Pakistan invaded it on March 27th, 1948 at the behest of the then British Raj and forcefully annexed it against the will of Baloch People. Being left alone at the mercy of Fundamentalist Pakistani military, world community never paid any attention to the atrocities Pakistan inflicted upon Baloch nation ever since. However, being a diehard nation it never disheartened them from seeking their lost independence.

But what Pakistan doesn’t understand is that Baloch is a diehard secular natured nation. Even if it has deprived them of education for centuries, but politically Baloch are more matured and conscious than any nation in the neighborhood. This has unified them in the resistance movement. Despite spending rupees in billions in establishing Madrassas (religious schools) in Balochistan Pakistan failed to radicalize Baloch into a religious extremist society necessary to subscribe to Pakistani national ideology of two nations theory. Ideologically Baloch People believe that Pakistan is a fundamentalist state biased towards other religions and cultures. It always suppresses religious minorities and never tolerates cultural diversity, Therefore Baloch nation has become its cultural victim.

How far Balochistan has moved away from Pakistani state clutch is evident from the fact that if one read the articles written by Pakistani writers in the last three weeks regarding Balochistan crisis, one won’t fail to detect their fear and comprehension about how volatile the situation is in Balochistan.

Baloch are more interested in seeing how much Pakistan is suffering from gas energy crisis and isolated from international community than the political and judicial quarrels in Islamabad. The constant attacks on Gas pipelines have generated ripple effects on Pakistan economy. One cannot simply ignore the social unrest in Punjab cities without linking it Baloch national insurgency.

Being highly organized, the armed organizations of Baloch Sarmachars, the freedom fighters, namely Baloch Liberation Army, Baloch liberation front, Baloch Republican Army, have utterly paralyzed Pakistani ground troop’s movement in Balochistan in isolated camps and check posts. They are overstretched in the vicious terrain of Balochistan.Being a foreign force, it is totally alienated from general society of Balochistan.Their fighting morale is depleted by being constantly high alert against guerilla attacks. They are extremely vulnerable and exposed to guerrilla attacks because their enforcement capacity is hampered by long distances.Pakistani ground troops would capitulate to Baloch Sarmachars, the Freedom Fighters, within weeks if not within days if aerial support from international community was rendered to them like they did in Libya against tyrant Gaddafi forces. In An interview with BBC, the field commander of Baloch liberation Front, Dr Alla Nizer said they call for international support and added that their forces could be merged into a single entity whenever the circumstances allowed them.

Now that Baloch national struggle for freedom has reached to new heights. In International media our voice is being heard. We have a just cause to pursue; that is the freedom of Balochistan from the unjust occupation by Pakistan. In the foreseeable future, we can see that the conflict between Baloch and Pakistan is going to intensify.

So far Baloch Sarmachars have confined their operation and actions within Balochistan geography targeting Pakistani armed forces, the state’s institutions and installations of railways and gas pipelines and every sign that shows the existence of Pakistan on Baloch soil and the ISI agents spying for Pak Army, whether they are settlers or locals.

If the situation was allowed to linger on like this and no intervention took place from world powers on the legitimate appeal of Baloch leaders, the human catastrophe will be highly extensive. And two things are likely to happen: first, being on edge, Baloch armed guerrilla leaders did not rule out the possibility of stepping out of Baluchistan’s geographic boundaries to carry out lethal actions against Punjab’s major cities such as Lahore and Rawalpindi. Even suicidal attacks could be an option, as BLA recently carried out it against Pakistani intelligence officers.

The second, Pakistan all along has been putting the blame on India that Baloch insurgency is being abetted by India. Now given the near future events, Pakistan’s frustration will grow to a limit where it, out of sheer frustrations, starts harming Indian interests in different Place and time.
It is a mystery why Baloch freedom movement is not being supported or opposed by world powers, despite the fact that Pakistan is committing vicious crimes against humanity in Balochistan, enough to prosecute it in Hague. So much so that it has wiped out an entire generation of Baloch leadership.

The nagging question is how much American has compromised on Balochistan issue with Pakistan during heyday of their good relationship on terrorism? In Baloch political society and media it’s widely believed that the world powers would themselves intervene and come to Baloch aid at their own convenience, arguing that world powers are still disentangling themselves from Pakistani blackmails.

Pakistani military and political establishment is more interested in courtship of a super power. During cold war Pakistan sought American courtship and exploited geostrategic situation of the region and suppressed Baloch and Pushton dissent voices. Our fear is that the same is going to be repeated here again, albeit with new Partners. With new geostrategic partnership Pakistan has started to seek defense pact with China and Iran. At the core of this new triangle strategic alignment lays the fear of Baloch freedom movement which has, all along, been calling for help from international community. Under Chinese strategic objectives Gwadar Deep Sea port is being prepared to establish bases for Chinese Naval ships.

Under the disguise of Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, Chinese exploitation of Baloch resources sees no limits in Balochistan, from Gwadar coast to gold and copper rich Chaghi region, from oil and gas rich areas of Dera Bugti and kohlu to the beautiful mountains of Jahlawan for marble extraction. Pakistan has allowed China open access to exploitation of Baloch resources.

According to a prominent Baloch research scholar, Sana Baloch “The resources here are being extracted by a Chinese company, without any independent monitoring for the past seven years. According to official reports copper-gold worth $633.573m were produced during 2004-08. The Balochistan government receives a paltry two per cent share, while half the profits go to Beijing and 48 per cent to Islamabad. The fortified Saindak project is a no-go area for the Baloch people”.

Last word: Baloch deserve the right to know why the managers of world affairs are apathetic about Baloch crisis. Is it a tacit consent to Chinese exploitation of Baloch natural resources and affirmative nod to Pakistani atrocities against the secular Baloch people?
