The Slogan of – Pakistan Quit Balochistan

By Archen Baloch
On 27th March 1948 Pakistan army invaded the sovereign state of Balochistan and forced the legitimate ruler, Khan of Kalat, Mir Ahmad Yar Khan to sign the merger agreement with Pakistan against the will of the Baloch nation. Baloch, under the leadership of Khan’s younger brother, Agha Abdul Kareem resisted this aggression but they were weak and the International community, especially the neighbouring countries, Afghanistan, Oman and India didn’t support them. The British Raj left Baloch at the mercy of religious Pakistan and in fact, British were instrumental in nudging and forcing Pakistan to occupy Balochistan.
Our weakness was that the British, under the divide and rule policy, had antagonized the heads of almost all tribes against the Khan of Kalat. This antagonism among Baloch tribes always rendered the federal character of Kalat extremely weak. The British Raj also never allowed Balochistan to have its own formal defence force, except a light levy force for collecting tax and serving as a police force for maintaining law and order. The control of British armed forces that were deployed in Balochistan was given to Pakistan instead of Balochistan at the time when the Raj departed theoretically from the region.
According to late Major Hayatan Shahmeer Mandesh’s historical accounts; “My elder brother, Hassan Shahmeer was working as a sepoy of levies force of Khan Kalat. He died at his earlier age and the levy force recruited me in place of him.
“I was underage at that time. After 18 days of my recruitment, the armed forces of British Raj from Soro Camp of Kalat, under the command of an English officer, came at our levy police station and told us that Balochistan had joined Pakistan, they burnt candlelight and lowered Balochistan’s Bairak (flag) of Khan Kalat and hoisted Pakistani flag. At that time we didn’t know what was going on, but later we learned that it was the invasion of Balochistan and the arrest of Khan Kalat. As we were of Khan of Kalat force, so the British forces were instructed to shoot to kill if the levy forces revolted against this order. Their fear was that we might revolt the capture of Kalat, so they were highly alert even to the level of shooting us dead.”
When Khan of Kalat was asked by M A Jinnah to Join Pakistan, he said he would ask the consent of bicameral parliament of Kalat federation, the overwhelming majority refused the idea of joining Pakistan just because of being Muslim state nation. At the joint session of the bicameral parliament, Mir Gaus Bakhsh Bezanjo, the leader of House of Common read out the resolution: “We are Muslim but it didn’t mean, necessarily, to lose our independent and merge in another nation just because of our Muslim faith. If our accession into Pakistan is necessary, being Muslim, then Muslim states of Afghanistan and Iran should also merge with Pakistan.”
The current national movement for the liberation of Balochistan is the succession of the past movements for independence, and it was launched in 1996 by patriotic Baloch national leader Hyrbyair Marri, the head of Free Balochistan Movement. The principle slogan of FBM party is to force Pakistan to quit Balochistan; it is to represent the popular demand of the sacrifices that Baloch nation offered and still offering over the years for the liberation movement of our motherland, Balochistan.
The overriding ideology for liberty from Pakistani and Iranian colonial rule is based on nationalistic patriotism believing in democratic values and universalism, However, the dynamics surrounding Baloch patriotism – that Pakistani military establishment feels could be the reasons of Pakistan’s disintegration – is the potential prospect of Indian and Afghan’s support to Balochistan’s liberation movement straddling across Durand line and Gold Smith line. Punjab’s national interests are at the heart of entire bloodbath in Afghanistan, Balochistan and Indian Kashmir.
So, as long as Balochistan is under Pakistani colonial rule, it continues to use religion as an ideological organ to dilute/blunt Baloch national patriotism, and of course, we must understand that Jihadi concept of Islam is at the core of their strategy to overshadow the force of Baloch national identity. Baloch nationalism is the antidote of the poisons of religious hatred and extremism.
Substantive problem on the agenda of major world powers now is to rid the world of Islamic religious terrorism. It is not the religious terrorism; the fact it is the existential fear of unnatural states like Pakistan Iran and Turkey who use the religion of Islam in order to save their colonial rules from the just struggle of oppressed nationalities.
At the confluence of two common interests -Baloch want to restore their lost sovereignty and western powers want to get rid of religious extremism- so they need to discuss the overriding need for a common strategy how to defeat the negative forces and put a new order with the strategic restoration of Baloch sovereignty in order to ward off future religious extremism in the region of South Asia.

The Brief Story of 13th November, the Baloch National Martyrs’ Day.

By Archen Baloch

In 2010, almost all pro independent political parties agreed to commemorate the 13th November as the remembrance day of all Baloch Martyrs who sacrificed their lives for defending the motherland from foreign invasions. Since then Baloch nation mourns and commemorates this dark day of their national history every year across the world except in occupied Balochistan forced to live under the draconian colonial rules of both Pakistan and Iran.

Like many other nations in the neighborhood, The Baloch too couldn’t defend their homeland from advancing expeditionary forces of British, called Army of Indus, towards Central Asia. The 13th November is the day when Baloch lost their sovereignty to British’s military aggression against the sovereign independent state of Balochistan in 1839. First martyrs were those who laid their lives while defending Meri Fort in capital Kalat of Balochistan federation. In that war our legitimate ruler Khan Mehrab Khan embraced martyrdom along with his Hindu cabinet minister, Dewan Bucha Mull Baloch.

In order to fulfill their colonial ambitions, Russia and England played the “The Great Game” in Central Asia in eighteenth century, and this game cost the weak nations like Baloch and Pashtun their sovereignty in the wake of their advancement to control the geostrategic countries like Balochistan and Afghanistan. The Russians wanted to have access to warm waters of Balochistan. According Baloch historian Dr Naseer Dashti, “The Russians, after having occupied the Central Asian steppes, had started sending diplomatic missions to Iran, Afghanistan, Sindh, and Punjab. This caused much alarm among the strategist of the British colonial administrators in India. The British perceived the Russian advances in Central Asia as a threat to their Indian possession—the backbone of the British financial prosperity and the base of their colonial power in Asia”.

So, in order to ward off Russian Advancement towards warm waters of Baloch Gulf, the British raj of East India Company devised its “Forward Policy” to move towards Afghanistan and raised a large military force called The Army of Indus, the route was Balochistan. They extracted a treaty with Khan of Kalat of Balochistan which allowed them a passage to Afghanistan.

Reluctantly, Mir Mehrab Khan, the legitimate ruler of Balochistan, entered into a treaty agreement with Britain on 28th March 1839 which allowed safe passage and supply line to the British expedition forces of Army of Indus through Balochistan on way to Kandahar through the strategic passages of Shekarpur, Jacobabad, Dhadar, Bolan, Quetta and Khojack pass. They conquered Afghanistan but couldn’t sustain their colonial rule over Kabul and Kandhar because of the tough resistance they faced from Afghan tribes of dethroned Amir Dost Mohammed Khan.

The frustrated British forces under the command of Gen Wilshire in Kandahar, seeing that their forward policy towards Central Asia to ward off the expected Russian move towards warm waters of Balochistan’s coast, turned into a debacle, decided to return and conquer Balochistan and turn it into a buffer zone under an afterthought policy - if we cannot move forwards, but we can stop them here - as result of their utter failure at the hands of Afghanistan.

The angry Gen Wilshare of British Army, while returning from Kandhar after being defeated at the hands of Afghan tribes, unexpectedly attacked the capital of Balochistan, Kalat, on a clumsy allegation that his armed forces and its supply lines were being attacked by Baloch tribes while passing through Bolan Pass. While the Khan of Kalat, Mir Mehrab Khan, scrambled to defend his country from foreign invasion was caught unarmed and embraced martyrdom alone with members of Shahi Jirga on 13th November 1839. The Baloch ruler was thinking that British would not attack his national sovereignty as he had treaty agreement with Britain.

According to historians the alleged attacks on British forces and supply lines were instigated by Akhund Mohammed Hassan, the son of an ousted minister of Shahi Court in Kalat. In order to avenge his father’s removal from Shahi Court, he secretly joined British’s forces in order to create mistrust. Later it was emerged that Akhund Mohammad Hasan was, in fact, a protégé of the British Raj.

According to Dr Dashti’s accounts, “Before reaching Kalat, the British demanded the surrender of the Khan in a humiliating letter, which was rejected by the Khan immediately (Dehwar, 2007; Naseer, 1979). The Khan tried to mobilize, but as the tribal chiefs were already antagonized, he could not assemble sufficient troops to defend the city. Instead, some of the tribal chiefs in Sarawan welcomed the invading army and supplied the British forces with provisions. Some of the tribes from Jhalawan and Kharan indeed mobilized in support of the Khan, but it was too late. On November 5, 1839, the British Army assaulted the Miri Fort in capital Kalat after intensive bombardment. Mir Mehrab Khan II and his limited force offered stubborn resistance against the invaders. The Khan embraced death with typical “Balochi Way” by walking in full view toward the enemy firing lines. Every member of his besieged force perished under heavy shelling and hand-to-hand fight with the British forces (Masson, 1974) defending his country and sacrificing his life in a heroic way and not surrendering to the enemy when death was inevitable, Mir Mehrab Khan II became one of the revered personalities in the Baloch history. The Baloch forgot all his mistakes and rallied around his son to revenge his death. However, with the martyrdom of Mir Mehrab Khan II and occupation of Kalat by the British, drastic changes occurred not only in the Baloch politics but the long colonial rule changed the fabrics of a tribal society beyond recognition”.

Petition for Free Balochistan

FBMPetition

Availing the opportunity of German democracy, protection and respect for human rights and freedom of expression, many Baloch political activists sought political asylum in Germany. However, they are often regarded as either Iranian or Pakistani due to lack of information about Balochistan’s illegal occupation by Pakistan and Iran. The members of Free Balochistan Movement embarked upon a signature awareness campaign to inform the German public as well the government that ‘Balochistan is neither Iran nor Pakistan’.
The campaign is also to protests against the daily human rights violations in Balochistan perpetrated by both Iranian and Pakistani armies with blanket impunity from international community’s scrutiny. The fanatic states of Iran and Pakistan are not only involved in human rights violations and war crimes in Balochistan but they are also promoting religious fundamentalism around the world.
The voice of Baloch general public against injustices of tyrannical colonial rule of Pakistan and Iran has been muzzled by media blackout in both occupying countries. But in German democratic society, seeing a window of opportunity of freedom of expression, activists of FBM are doing their best to let the world know what is the relationship of the Baloch nation with Iranian and Pakistan.
Currently, the activists of free Balochistan Movement in Germany didn’t limit their activism against only to human rights violence, but they’re highlighting the real objective of the Baloch national struggle for freedom that says we refused to be called Pakistanis or Iranian nationals because our country has been colonised by military means.
“We want to restore our lost sovereignty over our homeland, Balochistan. Currently, our country is arbitrarily divided into two parts between Iran and Pakistan. We are striving to convince German people that Baloch are a separate nation than Iranians and Pakistan. We are separate in every aspect from language to culture, food, music and traditions. Overall we have nothing in common with Punjabis and Persian,” one of the organisers Mr Elahi Bakhsh told Balochwarna News.
“It has been more than a month our signature campaign, titled ‘Balochistan is neither Pakistan nor Iran’ has been continued in almost all German cities. Our objective is to educate the German nation about the cause of our struggle that both Pakistan and Iran have occupied our country by military aggression. Therefore, it is the moral duty of all freedom-loving nations to come forward and lend their supporting hands so that our nation’s sovereignty is resorted over our motherland, Balochistan”, Mr Bakhsh added.
These campaigners of “Balochistan is neither Pakistan nor Iran” are reporting their activities on their Party page in Facebook, Free Balochistan Movement and other Baloch media outlets. In one such reported they emphasised on Balochistan’s occupation and the consequent division by the British Empire, “English Rulers divided Balochistan by drawing the artificial lines of “Gold Smith” and “Durand” and then provided the chance for the occupiers [Pakistan and Iran] to invade the sovereign state of Balochistan, and it is alarming and has to be denounced.”
On Friday 3rd May 2019, FBM’s activists held two signatory Campaigns simultaneously. One was held in German capital city of Berlin in front of US and France embassies and the other was held in the German city of Wuppertal of Northern Province of Westfalen. The campaigners said Germans and nationalities of other countries overwhelmingly supported and signed their petition of ‘Balochistan is neither Pakistan nor Iran’.
The campaigner also called on their former colonial ruler, the British Raj to correct their historical blunder which denied the Baloch of their sovereignty, in these words, “This will remain a debt on the history and evolution of Great Britain. This has become now the responsibility of Great Britain to support Balochistan’s independence struggle so that the “blunder” they committed is corrected so that the democracy-loving British public is not regretting”.
Mr Hyrbyair Marri, the head of Free Baloch Movement, recently asked the international community especially the US and the western world that “Pakistan and Iran should be blacklisted and given a stern warning to end the Balochocide (Baloch genocide) and their support for terrorism in the world.”
Baloch is a secular nation, striving for their basic rights for freedom and dignity and they think without their own the sovereign independent country of free Balochistan, they will be degraded and their national resources will be exploited by extremist countries, Pakistan and Iran for their nefarious designs.
The Free Balochistan Movement’s awareness campaign is a true representation of Baloch national aspirations and the Baloch narrative that Pakistani and Iranian media has been negatively portraying. It is the moral and national responsibility of all pro-freedom Baloch activists in exile to support and promote the petition of FBM to inform the world about the illegal occupation of Balochistan and Baloch struggle against again occupation.

Neutralise Pakistan’s Scarecrow of Nuke Threat

Freedom

By Archen Baloch
On 14 February a terrorist attack on Indian troops in Pulwama town in Kashmir, India claimed 41 lives of Indian CRPF Jawans. This deadly attack was reportedly carried out (responsibility accepted) by a Pakistan based religious terror group, Jaish-e-Mohammad, JeM.
Baloch nation, also a victim of Pakistan’s rogue army and its religious proxies, has always been supported by sincere Indian people on moral grounds, on all occasions, they rendered support to Balochistan’s just cause for independence in Indian media. However, the Indian government has never moved beyond lip service in terms of substantial diplomatic and political support at the international level in the face of war crimes perpetrated by the aggressive Pakistan army in the occupied Balochistan.
Baloch perspective in terms of policy matter with respect to Pulwama attack on Indian troops in Kashmir is clear. Mr. Hyrbyair Marri, the patriotic Baloch national leader and head of Free Balochistan Movement, in his tweet on Pulwama attack said, “Pakistan is playing with India like a basketball, and if it was the other way around, with Pakistan being the size and having the same strength as India, and India being the size of Pakistan, then India would have been a game of ping pong for Pakistan. My question is, for how long India is going to tolerate being bashed by Pakistan and turning the other cheek? ”.
If we go through the country study of Pakistan’s political structure, we will find that Pakistan’s dominant province, Punjab is the Serbian character of former Yugoslavia in Pakistan. This province of Pakistan is exclusively micromanaging Pakistan’s entire affairs through its army dominance over other nationalities under its colonial rule and its so-called civilian governments have always remained smokescreens where terrorism is being sold to world’s peaceful nations. This is the main reasons why Baloch, Pashtuns & Sindhi want to liberate themselves from the clutch of Punjab’s ultra-nationalism.
They loot the natural resources of other nationalities under its colonial rule & develop the swarming population of Punjab cities. Punjabi Generals think, and rightly so, that they cannot sustain their dominance over other nationalities without Kashmir being a part of Pakistan & Afghanistan without a pro-Pakistan Taliban regime.
Let us also not forget the fact that the majority Bengali people of former East Pakistan were subjected genocide, torture, and rape and pushed asked the wall for only for not following the dictations of Pakistan’s Punjabi nation. People of free Bangladesh – today – are lucky that they have rid themselves of a parasite like Pakistan’s Punjabi army. Soon, the Baluch, Pashtun and Sindhi will be free from the clutches of Punjab because their freedom is investable but a helping hand from their neighbours will make is possible earlier and perhaps with less bloodshed.
We better describe this rogue province of Pakistan as Pak-Punjab, as there is another peaceful Punjab in India and this Pak-Punjab is the only nation that has taken the path of enmity towards India, Afghanistan, America, Baloch and Pashtuns with two scarecrow deterrents – Taliban Mujahid & dirty nukes, with these two deterrents it has blackmailed India, America, Europe and wreck havoc in Afghanistan, Balochistan Kashmir, Sindh and Pakhtunistan.
However, Pakistan cannot use its nukes against India for one obvious reason: as we hinted earlier that Pakistan is exclusively and solely micromanaged by Punjab, for Punjab’s economic well-being & its micromanagers are extremely ultra-nationalists, albeit in the garb of Pakistanihood and Islam. The micromanagers of Pakistan know very well that Punjab is well within the reach of Indian nukes and within the reach of India in case of a war.
In order to neutralise Pakistan’s nuke threat, India needs to train its Nukes at Pak-Punjabi cities & tell its micromanagers, the Punjabi army Generals that if sanity betrayed them, all cities of Punjab will turn into ashes! This is the only way to get rid of South Asia of terrorism. Baloch, Pashtuns and Sindhi people have cordial relationships and mutual respect for Indian people and they are fed up with Pakistan.
If a war breaks out between Indian and Pak-Punjab, the other nations named above will refrain from being part of this war. In fact, India must hold talks with the leaders of the Baloch freedom movement, Pashtuns and Sindhis to assure them that Pak-Punjab and their proxies are our common enemy. They have killed thousands of innocent Baloch, Pashtun, Sindhis and others.
It is in the interest of the entire region including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Balochistan, India and other regional stakeholders to rid themselves of Pakistan and its terrorist outfits. The rest of us can co-exist peaceful, respecting our mutual interests, and work for the peace, stability of regional and international peace. The world is better off without Pakistan and for this reason, the world must support Baloch.

The Alignment of Arab and Baloch Interests in the Middle East!

By Archen Baloch

Iran is one of the weakest countries in the Middle East, given its divergent centrifugal ethnic composition if exploited.  However, thanks to Saudi Arabia, the leader of Arab nations, despite having the necessary leverages of inflicting a heavy cost on Iran it has never sought to destabilize it in order to avenge its naked enmity towards Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Palestine and Egypt.

Given the precarious security turmoil in the geopolitics of Middle East, unprecedented voices are heard in favour of an independent Balochistan from Saudi and UAE media particularly, though, not at the official level, yet they’re not without the consents of their governments in GCC countries – objective seems to have help Baloch liberate Balochistan from Iranian occupation.

Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, an ex UAE official twitted that Iran is giving missiles to Houthis to attack the Kingdom, then why the Kingdom is not providing Baloch with the missiles that can hit the heart of Iran?

Recently, exiled Baloch national leader Hyrbyair Marri appreciated the Saudi Kingdom’s efforts to bring moderate Islam in the Kingdom and urged the Arab nations especially the neighbouring Gulf countries to lend their moral support to Baloch national struggle for the liberation movement of Balochistan.

Both Iran and Pakistan have illegally occupied Balochistan against the will of Baloch people and the Baloch have relentlessly resisted Iranian and Pakistani military aggression of occupying Balochistan. Both countries have turned Balochistan into a colony of their ruthless rules for economic exploitation of Baloch natural resources.

During British Raj, the Reza Shah of Iran invaded Western part of Balochistan in 1928 and Pakistan occupied Eastern mainland of Balochistan in 1948. The Baloch nation never accepted this aggression and intermittently resisted this aggression with armed struggle, besides the attempts of exploring the democratic avenues for a genuine federal solution with Tehran and Islamabad, however, both never reciprocated to genuine Baloch goodwill gesture.

Pakistan’s double standard and its dishonesty towards GCC countries must also be gauged with the fact that why it has proliferated nuclear technology to Iran despite knowing the fact that it has hardly left a stone unturned in wrecking havoc in Arab countries?

Under Shah’s rule or Mullah Regime, Iran has always sought to destabilize Arab countries besides occupying Baloch, Arab and Kurd lands. The antagonist behaviours of ultra-nationalist Persian regimes have proven the fact that the very existence of Iranian entity in the current form is a permanent existential threat to Middle Eastern countries, especially the GCC.

The China Pakistan Nexus, namely China Pakistan Economic Corridor, CPEC, has threatened Baloch demography in Balochistan and strengthened Pakistan’s hands in Baloch genocide. And now it has emerged that China has planned to build a navy base in Jiwani peninsula.  Chinese hegemonic presence in Balochistan at the mouth of Arabian Gulf can pose a security imbalance to GCC countries, given China’s strategic tilt towards Iran.

Geographically, Balochistan is situated at the meeting point of three major regions Middle East, South Asia and Central Asia, if helped liberated from both Iran and Pakistan; it would become a bastion for peace and interconnect the three major regions into a secured trade and commerce corridor. The secular Baloch want to be a partner in peace and prosperity with all peace-loving nations in the region and beyond.

The convergence of Baloch and Arab interests has created an exigency for both nations to explore the ways and means at intellectual level and it would be greatly appreciated by Baloch public if its leadership were allowed an avenue in one of the Gulf States to hold conferences in order to educate the international community about Baloch national cause for freedom.

The butcher of Balochistan at large

By Archen Baloch The Pakistani dictator and ex-military general Pervez Musharraf lives abroad with his family and enjoys a secure and quality life in London, Dubai and the US. During 10 years in power as president of Pakistan, he has not only committed war crimes against humanity in Balochistan, but also flouted every international law of which Pakistani itself is a signatory – the nuclear technology proliferation to the very enemies of America – Iran, Libya and N. Korea and Sheltering Al Qaeda and Taliban leadership. In the eyes of international community, Baloch blood is a discount. That is why the “butcher of Balochistan”, Gen Pervez roams around world’s capitals with great impunity and gives lectures and speeches about world peace, but the lonely Baloch won’t relent in pursuit of justice as much as they can stand against dictators like Musharraf. In August this year, the Baloch political and human rights activists heckled this brute Pakistani dictator at the Nobel Peace Centre in Oslo. The Baloch activists called Musharraf the ‘Butcher of Balochistan’ during the event. Baloch activists rightly protested against inviting Musharraf to a centre where people are awarded peace prizes for their service to humanity and their contribution to the greater good of the world. Inviting Musharraf and allowing him to talk at peace center was as if allowing a brutal murderer to stain the walls of this Nobel place with the blood of innocent people. This dictator is wanted for high treason charges in his own country, yet he roams and gives lectures to the world community at places non-other-then Nobel Peace Centre in Oslo. However, the world powers especially India, America, and Europe which are constantly being troubled by his abnormal state, called Pakistan, have the moral responsibility to oversee that the Geneva Convention is fully implemented and Musharraf is behind the bars. The crimes against humanity in Balochistan, violations of international laws that Pakistan has committed and directly against the interests of America and NATO in Afghanistan during his dictatorship presidency are substantial and enough to indict him to International Criminal Court in Hague and interesting thing is that he has openly admitted that his state has sheltered the terrorists in Pakistan in order to wreak havoc in Afghanistan for Pakistan’s interests. He continues to insist that ordering the murder of Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti was the right thing he did. He openly admits that Pakistan sheltered Bin Laden and other Taliban leaders and he recently suggested that Dawood Ibrahim may be in Pakistan. He admitted tha. Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan was involved in Nuclear proliferation. Under the law of nature and all international conventions, he must be arrested, interrogated and punished for his involvement in war crimes and for working against the interests of America while getting financial and military aid from America at the same time. Interestingly, on several occasions, he has confessed his all crimes from nuclear proliferation to sheltering Al Qaeda leadership in Pakistan and rendering support to Taliban that have killed thousands of American and NATO soldiers in Afghanistan on top of killing thousands of Afghan citizens through religious proxies of Pakistan army. The brutal murder of American Journalist Denial Pearl in Karachi by ISI must not be forgotten. In Pakistani state narrative and staged drama this murder was attributed to a religious extremist organization, but in fact, it was a state sponsored murder because the deep state of Pakistan didn’t want the facts to go out during Musharraf era. This murder was a clear message for the foreign journalists that their fates won’t be different from that of Denial Pearl if they ever tried to poke their nose into Pakistani internal affairs. Later we witnessed that no international investigative journalist was allowed to enter Pakistan. Musharraf is directly involved in following crimes and beyond: 1. Proliferating Nuclear Technology to American Enemies, Libya, Iran and N. Korea 2. Sheltering Al Qaeda and Taliban leadership. 3. Putting behind the bars Dr Shakeel Afridi that helped America to get to the world’s number one monster of terrorism and not allowing Americans to see him 4. Supporting the Taliban Haqqani Network and Hoodwinking successive American administrations. 5. Dishonouring its commitment to international peace and supporting terrorism. 6. Committing war crimes in Balochistan against secular Baloch people, The cold-blooded murders of Baloch leadership, like Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti along with his 32 companions and many others. 7. Ordering military attacks against Baloch civilian populations where thousands of other Baloch men, women and children were killed. The Gulf States didn’t hesitate to tighten the screws around Qatar when it refused to stop abetting the terrorist organizations, and Pakistan’s record is far worse than that of Qatar’s. Then why this exceptional favour and impunity to Pakistan which left no stone unturned in waging proxy wars against America, India and Afghanistan? It should have faced the economic embargo right after 9/11 instead of showering it with free oil and dollars. What would likely happen when he is arrested? His arrest would trigger a nasty confrontation between Pakistan army and Nawaz Sharif supporters because Pakistan army would immediately react, but the disgraced Nawaz will be very happy and will not allow his party to accept army dictations, this will sharpen the already antagonism between Nawaz Sharif and Army establishment. Then there remain two options for Punjab dominated Pakistani army either to stage another military coup against Nawaz party government and impose a martial law or accept American demands without a single objection. In either case, Pakistan army reputation in Punjab will severely be dented, here begins the general disillusionment about the capability of Pakistan army in Punjabi general public. Upon seeing that Pakistan is facing international sanctions and its army grip over state power has weaken, the intimidated Sindhi and Pashtun leadership will be encouraged to demand equal representation in the so called Pakistani parliament or they would opt for their own respective separate states as Sindhudesh and Independent Pashtunistan. However, for now, the main concern is that an absconder and a murderer, who ordered the disappearing and killing of thousands of innocent Baloch people in Balochistan and duped America and rest of the west in the name of war against global terrorism, openly confesses his crime yet roams freely and remained at large.

Adoption of a State Policy to support the Baloch is essential

By Archen Baloch

Freedom
On policy matters it would be fatally harmful to genuine Baloch national cause for freedom if India fails to adopt a state policy in the immediate future about the ideology of Balochistan independence; because the Indian reluctance to seriously support Baluchistan freedom movement would justify Pakistan’s claims that the insurgency in Balochistan is a proxy war of India against Pakistan.
The growing impression in Baloch political society is that India is not going to adopt a solid-state policy for Balochistan freedom – a policy about which Hyrbyair Marri and other Baloch national leaders have time and again explained in their various statements in the context of the current geopolitics of the region.
The Baloch leadership emphasised that there would be no peace in South and Central Asia so long as Balochistan remains under Pakistani colonial rule. It will be difficult win a war against intolerant forces and extremists if the Western world and India continues to ignore the secular Baloch. Therefore, Adoption of a clear-cut State Policy- an acknowledgment of Baluchistan’s status as an independent state – is crucial for all stockholders to bring peace in the region.
One of the essential things in the overall scheme of support to Baloch is that all foreign friends of Balochistan, especially the Indian, American and Afghan policy makers must avoid encouraging individualistic approaches in order to lend support to Balochistan liberation movement. The individualistic approaches should be considered as plots to disintegrate and weaken the Baloch national efforts to break free from the yoke of Pakistan’s occupation. Therefore, a collective approach would be well advised for a comprehensive strategy to advance and support the cause of Baloch liberation struggle.
